What/Where/When: Your Guide to Watching the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans

By |2017-06-13T18:06:45-05:00June 13th, 2017|Uncategorized|0 Comments

This weekend marks one of the biggest, most historic, and grueling races of the year: the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This, the 85th running of the race, will be the center stage for some truly epic racing rivalries. Among the prototype cars in LM P1, the teams to watch this year will be Porsche and Toyota, without a doubt. Toyota’s factory-backed Kazoo Racing team was looking dominant last year until a mechanical failure in the closing stages of the race cost them the win, handing over victory to Porsche instead. Meanwhile, the LM GTE class will continue to be a fan favorite as production-based cars like the Ford GT (that took 1st, 2nd, and 4th in last year’s race) go wheel to wheel against other factory-backed efforts like the Ferrari 488 GTE, Corvette C7.R, Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, and Aston Martin Vantage GTE. Amelia Island Auction Top Picks – MHCC

By |2016-03-09T08:11:01-05:00March 8th, 2016|Cars We'd Like to Own|1 Comment

Car we’d most like to drive across the country in: 1957 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Tour de France Not only is this Ferrari 250 TdF drop-dead gorgeous but it has actual racing pedigree at Spa, Monza, and in the actual Tour de France that this car gets its name from. We’d happily use this car for vintage events like Mille Miglia to tear across the Italian countryside in the utmost style. RM Sotheby’s didn’t provide any auction estimates but style like this certainly doesn’t come cheaply. […]

Bronco on Ice at the Wayzata Chilly Open

By |2016-02-08T16:20:46-05:00February 8th, 2016|Events|0 Comments

For the last few years, we've been sponsoring the Wayzata Chilly Open. In addition to being a great big chili cook-off for the businesses in Wayzata and neighboring cities, Lake Minnetonka plays host to thousands of "golfers" and spectators who come out to play 9 holes worth of golf on the ice. This year, three distinct courses were set up out on the ice, with Morrie's sponsoring one of the courses. We set up a pop-up tent and brought our Banana Bronco out on the ice. The theme this year was "Superheroes" so we turned our hole into a cityscape straight from Spiderman, complete with action figures. If a golfer knocked one of the villains (either the Green Goblin or Venom) off the top of our cityscape they got an automatic hole-in-one! We had a great time out on the ice meeting all the golfers and spectators that came by our booth and were happy to keep people warm with our fire bit. Some of the costumes were really fun and over the top too! Take a look at our photo gallery below to see what we mean.

Simple. Timeless. All-American.

Planning a wedding is one of the most exciting things to do in one’s life. It is also one of the most difficult and stressful things. Where do you start? What kind of food should you serve? I really hope the DJ doesn’t play Sir Mix-A-Lot.  Although you may feel overwhelmed during the initial stages of planning, your vision will unfold into one of the most memorable experiences of your life. Pinterest, wedding blogs, and Google can be your closest friends during this time. These allies can help you search for inspiration, assist with the planning process, and find vendors — especially if you wish to obtain something unique, such as a classic car to make your departure after your ceremony. SEMA 2015: What we loved!

By |2015-11-10T16:54:53-05:00November 10th, 2015|Uncategorized|0 Comments

We are back from Las Vegas and thought we should tell you about some of our favorite products and cars that we saw at SEMA. We covered 20 miles or so on foot over two days and we hope we saw it all. With so many neat products already released or coming soon, it was hard to decide what should get Best of Show—but we found two that really captured our attention. […]

I thought we should share some more pictures, this time what we took on our cell phones. While not quite as good of quality as our camera there is still some great eye candy to be seen. Most of these photos did make it to our Instagram and Twitter feed but there are a couple that didn’t. […]

SEMA Show Day 2

By |2015-11-05T19:15:41-05:00November 5th, 2015|Uncategorized|0 Comments

After a short night sleep we headed back the SEMA to see what we missed and spend more time with vendors that peaked our interest from the first day. We arrived just after the show opened today and found it to be relatively quiet to start out, thanks in part to the rain, although it didn’t stay quiet for long. By the late morning it was packed making it difficult to navigate the floor and get pictures, many vendors had celebrity guests and big unveilings at their booths creating huge crowds that filled many of the halls. We even have had a celebrity sighting that we were pretty excited to see, if you are a fan of the Fast and the Furious Movies, Han from the later movie was out showing off is beautiful Datsun Z Car. We spent 9 hours on site and walked just over 12 miles!   […]

By |2015-11-04T11:03:14-05:00November 4th, 2015|Uncategorized|0 Comments

We made it Las Vegas!! After flying out Tuesday morning, we landed in Sin City around 11 am and after dropping our bags at the hotel we beelined to the Las Vegas Convention Center. After getting our credentials we hit the showfloor around noon Las Vegas time and immediately starting checking everything out. The show overall has been pretty overwhelming really, there are so many vendors and people attending the show it is almost impossible to get a good look at all of the amazing cars and products. We walked 9.82 miles on Day 1 and it was only a half day! Check out some pictures of Day 1 and check back for coverage of Day 2.     […]

Hot summer, cool cars just added to the MHCC fleet

By |2015-07-06T09:16:55-05:00June 17th, 2015|New Additions|0 Comments

Morrie's Heritage Car Connection is excited to announce the recent addition of four really fun and unique vehicles to the MHCC fleet! First up, we just took delivery of this cool 1974 Volkswagen Thing. Originally designed to be the German equivalent of a Jeep, they were ordered by the German military as well as a number of coastal resorts around the world. In either case, they were enjoyed for their rugged, go-anywhere capabilities while being lightweight, fun to drive, and affordable. It might surprise you to know that the VW Thing actually shares a number of its components with the VW Beetle as well as Porsches of the era. We also recently added a 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Spyder to the mix. This turquoise blue beauty shares its unique rear-engine layout with the VW Thing offers an air-cooled Flat-6 engine, just like the Porsche 911 of the time. Between the unique engine layout and slick 4-speed manual, it's a ton of fun to drive! Even if Ralph Nader hates the Corvair, we're really excited to have this drop-top in the mix. Just in time for road trip season, we also acquired two big, lumbering wagons for the collection as well: a 1966 Ford Country Squire and a 1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Not only can you fit a surprising amount of people on both of these vehicles but if you run out of room inside, they also both feature factory luggage racks for extra carrying capacity. The Country Squire even comes with its own set of vintage luggage! And nothing can [...]
