Carhops, poodle-skirts, homemade root beer and hand-packed burgers – The Drive In is a perfect blast-from-the-past restaurant to cruise to on a cool fall day!
There’s no doubt the whole family will have a blast at The Drive In Restaurant in Taylors Falls! The 50s vibe alone is enough to exit the highway and stop for a snack. Their menu is deliciously lengthy, including things from classic burgers and veggie burgers to battered fish to chicken tenders and boneless wings. Their sides list has my mouth watering too – crinkle cut fries, battered green beans or pickles, cheese curds, mozzarella sticks, onion rings and sweet potato fries – how does one choose!
You absolutely cannot pass up dessert while visiting The Drive In, their milkshakes were voted top 10 in Minnesota! Sundaes, freezes or a root beer float made with their homemade “Frostop” root beer are delightful runner-ups!
If your belly is too full after lunch to get dessert right away, practice your putting! There are 18 holes including obstacles such as ponds, streams, and a waterfall. The course is a friendly difficult, bring on the challenge!
The Drive In is open through mid-October, this is about the same time Morrie’s Heritage closes for the year, you’d better plan your trip! Why not make the most of the experience, book a classic car to cruise to this retro fall spot in!
