Heritage Coordinator becomes Homeless

By | 2017-04-19T13:41:22+00:00 March 22nd, 2017|Community|0 Comments

Recently, I sold my condo of 10 years – and while the plan is to buy a house – I haven’t yet. If you’ve ever shopped for a house you know it isn’t easy, and it certainly isn’t stress-free. So I decided to focus on the selling and not the buying since I have some time before I need to do that part. While laying in bed last night doing battle with insomnia, I thought of some more…creative living options for myself, and decided to share the rabbit hole I stumbled down. […]

When Persistence Pays Off, you “Bring a Trailer”

By | 2017-04-19T13:43:09+00:00 March 8th, 2017|New Additions|0 Comments

Surprise! It’s a 1966 Jaguar XKE Series 1 You may have all read our exciting auction blog while we were bidding on the 1966 Jaguar XKE via Bring a Trailer. I had talked with the seller during auction to get a better feeling for him and the car. It’s funny how well it works vetting a car over the phone – you can really tell a lot about a car by its owner and the way they speak about it. This was a case where he quickly put me at ease, saying all the right things without being prompted. After we lost the auction to the secret reserve (not going to tell), my intention was to give it a little time, then reach back out to see what his price was. I frankly forgot to call, but then, he called me. “That’s great” I thought, “he actually wanted to sell the car to us!” I asked him what he wanted and he told me what his reserve was – to which I said “is that the price?” To which he replied, “well, lets talk tomorrow.” […]

If you haven’t driven it, it’s new to you. Adventures in BMW 2002tii repair.

By | 2017-02-14T14:57:47+00:00 February 14th, 2017|Projects, Uncategorized|0 Comments

Our BMW 2002tii has been kind of the forgotten child when it comes to the Heritage collection of cars. Have you ever had the project you know isn’t going to go your way so you just keep pushing it off? Well our 2002tii was mine. The tii is a mechanical fuel injected version off the BMW 2002, while it is a fairly basic system in theory, it works or doesn’t. We believe ours to be the latter. But first things first why have we been avoiding well, we weren’t the first. I have tried to have several shops track down its perplexing problems, and the number one response when you call them, “Tii? No thanks.” I guess sometimes you can’t actually pay people to fix cars. I would spend a couple days a month working little things after researching the google box. After multiple shops not being able to time the car correctly, I dug up a local resource for getting the distributor restored. This person happens to be the expert in 2002 distributors, we even featured him as a guest blog shop a few months back you may remember.  Our distributor was is rough shape, advancing the timing way before the factory setting, but that wasn’t anything Advance Distributors couldn’t handle. Zombie Apocalypse Vehicles: SEMA Edition

By | 2016-11-28T16:01:12+00:00 November 28th, 2016|Uncategorized|0 Comments

The Zombie apocalypse is bound to happen right? I mean with the way television and movies are going we at least have to think about it right? The topic comes through the office often, usually around, “The Walking Dead” premieres) and at that point we discuss which Heritage cars we would use and why. Walking around SEMA it had me thinking. Thinking that these few I’ve found are perfect for the zombie apocalypse and I felt that I should pick out my favorites and why they are just that great.  […]

Walleye 1000 Vintage Car Rally, 1000km of Mini Horse Fun

By | 2016-06-08T09:37:51+00:00 June 8th, 2016|Uncategorized|2 Comments

The Walleye 1000 is a vintage car rally with the motto of “Check your tires, check your oil, check your ego at the starting line and let’s go!” and it really sums up the heart of the rally. Cars that run the Walleye 1000 range from $1000 to a million plus. The attendees are just folks who want to drive their cars through some of the best roads that southern Minnesota and Wisconsin have to offer. This is not about who has the fanciest car, or who is going to win. It is about enjoying cars and the people who love to drive them. […]

It is a long-running tradition of yachts, champagne and burning rubber on Circuit de Monaco. We will be catering in something special from our friends at Edelweiss Bakery. The doors open at 6:30 am and the race starts at 7:00 am. Soundset Festival - May 29th Minnesota is known for our locally-built music label Rymesayers Entertainment. They have a huge summer music festival called Soundset that is celebrating its ninth year. This year features over 35 performers who will take the stage on Sunday, May 29th. Tickets are available for the all-day event that takes place at the State Fair Grounds. Memorial Day Weekend As long as the Minnesotan weather cooperates with us this weekend, Memorial Day is the perfect time to be outdoors. As far as events go, step outside your front door. Go to the nearest tent. Buy things on sale. Done.
