A trip to SEMA for some is a bucket list trip, and after spending some quality time wandering the show it’s immediately clear why that is true. The cars, the products, the celebrities, everywhere you look, you’re simply amazed. We walked about 20+ miles during our time at the show and still didn’t see everything there was to offer. You can’t explain the sheer size of the show, and we hope that some of these photos break into the amazement that was SEMA 2017! […]

We decided that we were missing some love in our fleet. So we went out and caught a love bug. It’s a 1973 Super Beetle Convertible that was originally delivered in Minnesota. While we do still have a bit of work left to finish before it’s completely rental ready, we’re already loving it! The VW Beetle is an iconic design and a sure fire way to enjoy an afternoon buggin’ around town. We can expect this rental ready by next week to catch the final part of our season in this baby blue Beetle convertible! […]
A lot of people have been asking me the same questions over and over. It generally starts with “You have eyes, right?” Apparently, (and this is just what I’ve gathered) a considerable portion of the population thinks the Porsche 996 is the ugliest car ever to come out of Stuttgart. “Fried-egg headlights and a ticking time bomb IMS bearing” are touted as the norm when it comes to the 996 chassis. Now, I’m here to set the record straight. After owning a Speed Yellow 2003 Porsche 996 C4S for almost a year, I wanted to give it a fair review. To really explain why I went out of my way to sell my perfectly functional daily driver, and use the loot to buy a warranty-less Porsche. Disclaimer – I am not crazy. Probably. I’ll just get to the good/bad of the Porsche 996… […]
This weekend was all about Camaros, Can-Am Cars, and everything else under the sun that can go fast. Whether it was 80hp Pre-War Specials, or an 800hp Can-Am car, everyone was ready for the WeatherTech International Challenge with Brian Redman. There’s something special about waking up at 7:15am to the spin of the power tools as opposed to a regular alarm clock buzzing in your ear. Camping at the track has been something I’ve been doing for as long as I can remember! I’ve spent over 20 years heading to racetracks all over the country, and I’d have it no other way. That being said, there’s something special about showing up year after year to Road America for “The Hawk.” […]
Most everyone loves fireworks (with the exception of most dogs who hide under the bed when they go boom), and that’s why we’re chomping at the bit for the 4th of July firework displays. Not only are these displays going to be on the fourth, but when it falls on a Tuesday like it does this year, it could be the weekend before and after! […]
This was our second year sponsoring the Walleye 1000 and we cannot say enough about how great of an event this truly is. When we showed up just outside of Prescott, WI to kick off the event, everyone was giddy like a bunch of kids on the last day of school. The vehicles all lined up, we had a few words about where we'd be heading, and we took off through Prescott to enjoy the open road. The weather was a bit steamy at the launch and didn't cool down much throughout the day. Amazingly, all 34 cars were able to take off in the heat and head towards our final destination for the day which was La Crosse, WI. Throughout the day there was plenty of time to stop and take in the scenic byways of Wisconsin, maybe run through an antique store or two, and even stop for a nice iced coffee (which we had to do). We found ourselves swapping places and catching up with different vehicles all throughout the drive, which is one of the best parts of the rally. "Who is stopping for gas there. Which vehicle is that up ahead a ways" were things we found ourselves saying pretty frequently. We ended our day with a lovely dinner at the Freighthouse in La Crosse, which made for a fitting setting to hold our vintage car rally banquet meal. For the second day the goal was to get to Axel's restaurant in Mendota Heights back in Minnesota. We set [...]
This story is basically the tale of a picture being worth a 1,000 words. I don't want to bore everyone with the details of each gas stop, or the specifics of how many bugs my headlight killed. I want to share the experience through photographs and make someone feel like they were along for the ride. I've been on several motorcycle trips in the past, but something about this one just felt right. The cold Colorado mountain air hitting your face, the rain washing away the dust and dirt on the bike from an overpass trail stop...it all just seemed to come together. It was an experience – not just another ride. The freedom of the open road is exhilarating, and when the scenery is this good, it was impossible not to enjoy every second.
