Let’s take a look at everything that happened, from the 2019 Aston Martin Vantage, to all those celebrity sightings, and much, much more in our Super Bowl roundup. […]

To Buy or Not to Buy: Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale

By | 2018-01-23T11:15:35+00:00 January 23rd, 2018|MHCC Trips|2 Comments

The old saying, “Heavy lies the crown” is the first term that comes to mind when thinking about my visit to Barrett-Jackson for Morrie’s Heritage. You have the power to buy sure, but making a split second decision on an expensive vintage car is a terrifying decision. When that gavel cracks down you’d better be pretty darn sure you know exactly what you’re buying, and you should keep reading below to see if we succeeded in our quest to add or new car, or left empty handed. If you’re from Minnesota and have been following racing for some time, there’s a good chance you’ve seen Paul Newman wandering around the Brainerd International Raceway, or Road America in Wisconsin. Not particularly today, but most likely in the 70’s and 80’s when he ran some pretty unique and special cars that still leave us with the same feelings today. So take a look at Paul’s Datsun 280ZX that we wouldn’t mind having in our garage.   […]

Arizona Auction Picks – First Round of 2018

By | 2018-01-16T14:54:54+00:00 January 16th, 2018|Cars We'd Like to Own|0 Comments

Since I’ll be heading to Barrett Jackson this week, I thought I’d skip the actual auction I’m heading for and try my best at the Russo and Steele auction. While there’s still a chance I could make my way over there, I saw some insane stuff while browsing through and thought I should try and make the best of my time exploring what I can’t buy… So here’s my picks from the other auction across town. Best of Best: A Recap of 2017

By | 2018-01-02T13:50:53+00:00 December 27th, 2017|Uncategorized|0 Comments

So we wanted to compile a, “Best of the Best” post from the 2017 season, as seen through the eyes of our viewers. So what we did is cram all of our favorite blogs into one post to take a look back at what made 2017 such a memorable year. We drove all over the midwest, we drove some race cars, we bought some fancy watches, and so much more that we couldn’t even include. Just when we thought that we’d hit the pinnacle of a great year, we went out and added a new car before the year closes. So as we look upon our new shiny Corvette, or look at our old and trusty Mustangs, we really have to enjoy what we have. The ability to share spectacular automotive pieces of history with the general public that used our vehicles in such fun and unique ways is just awesome. […]

New MHCC Vehicle: An Unusual 1971 Chevrolet Corvette

By | 2017-12-19T09:45:09+00:00 December 19th, 2017|Uncategorized|0 Comments

We went, we saw, we bought. Simple as that. We won’t bore you with all the technical specs, but we do want to show off a few photos before our new (to us) 1971 Corvette makes its way down to the big city. After this year, we decided we’d like to add a few new vehicles to our fleet to keep things fresh. So fresh in fact, that we didn’t even keep the old motor that was in this 1971 Corvette, –  it’s replaced with what would have been in a 2002 Camaro! So to everyone that asked we had a Corvette last year, yes, yes we do – and a pretty sweet one at that. Let’s take a closer look at this new acquisition for MHCC. […]

Countryside Car Pickin’ – MHCC Style

By | 2017-12-13T17:55:41+00:00 December 13th, 2017|Uncategorized|0 Comments

If you haven’t noticed yet, the MHCC crew is always looking for an excuse to go on an automotive adventure. When we see one we jump on it. Now, admittedly, I like a good road trip as much as anyone here, but I ‘m not sure I could handle an epic like Adam and Josh’s 3,200 Mazda Rotary Pickup winter road trip. Fortunately the trip I had planned with Adam was just a day trip. Our adventure started with a car, but it was not our car. Rather, it was a car we were scouting for the MHCC fleet. Whereas most of the cars we want to buy are hundreds if not thousands of miles away, this particular car was just a couple hours northwest in Alexandria, Minnesota. Needless to say a plan was hatched quickly to go see the car in person, a truly novel idea given most of our fleet has been purchased online, sight unseen and with a leap of faith. (Spoiler alert – upon seeing the car it was everything we hoped it would be, but we’ll save that story for another day.) This story is about Adam and I bouncing around for 250 miles one chilly afternoon in the MHCC Land Rover Defender. There’s a certain allure to the Land Rover Defender. It’s big, tough looking and conveys more than a bit of that rugged adventurism you’d associate with a trip through the English countryside. Or at least a hipster Instagram post. Joking aside, it’s [...]
